About Our Lady of Reims Cathedral

The magnificently beautiful Gothic style structure with 267-foot tall towers is decorated with 2,303 statues and was the coronation site of 24 French kings from Louis VIII in 1223 to Charles X in 1825. Our Lady of Reims Cathedral is said to be built upon the site of the year 496 Clovis baptism that created the Kingdom of the Franks. The current structure dates back to approximately 1211 and features elegant stained glass windows, impressive paintings and amazing relics from its royal past. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage Site welcomes approximately one million visitors annually.
